If you have curvature of the spine, or any other condition that causes one side of your body to have arms that fall at different lengths or any joint to be higher or lower on one side than the other, we need you take the measurements of both sides of your body.

There are two ways to measure yourself. Both require you to tack a tape measure to the wall, with the highest number at the top and have a straight edge (ruler).

Some women find it easier to work with full length mirror, while others have found it easiest standing facing the tape measure.

1. Measure top of head to floor.

2. Measure at bend of jaw bone to floor.

3.Measure chin to floor.

4. Measure at the base of the throat (where collar bones meet).

Make sure your head is not tilted up or down; that you are looking straight ahead. There should be at least 2 ½ inches between your chin and the base of your throat. (Example: if your chin measurement is 55 inches from the floor, your base of the neck measurement should not be less than 52 ½ but no more than 4 ½ inches difference.

5. To find the breast bone place finger between collar bones, lightly run it down the sternum until you feel a bump followed by a depression. That is it.

Another way to find the breast bone is to move your finger straight across your collar bone about one inch. Then proceed down the chest wall until you feel the thick bone. Immediately after the bone will be an indention. Take the measurement from that point.

This is one of the hardest measurements. There should be at least 1 ½ inches below the collar bone but less than 4 ½ inches from the collar bone. (Example: if the base of the throat is 52 the breast bone should be at least 50 ½ but no more than 4 ½ inches below the throat.

6. Measure elbow to floor.

7. To find exact waist bend to the side.

The waist line is your diaphragm and you can not bend below it.

8. To find the point where the leg joins the torso - move one leg to the side there will be an indentation.

9. Measure the middle of the wrist bone to the floor.

10. The middle knuckle of your longest finger.

11. Measure from knee
to floor.

12. Measure from ankle to floor.
